The Grade II listed Palace Theatre, located on the A13 (London Road) in Westcliff, first opened its doors to the public in October 1912. During its lifetime it has operated as a variety theatre, as a cinema, as a ‘legitimate’ theatre, had a number of owners – including one very special lady – several long-serving (and long-suffering!) artistic directors and has been forced to close down on many occasions.
However, having survived against all the odds, the Palace Theatre proudly reached its Centenary on 21st October 2012. There’s just no stopping this wonderful old theatre!
Many people have fallen in love with the Palace; we hope you do too!
